Ewakening : Privacy

Ewakening is a data sharing community which provides you with an easy way to post and share information online about yourself, including genetic and other health information, and add metadata and comments, written by you or others, to your information.

This Ewakening Privacy Policy continues to be in effect for existing users of the Ewakening services.

You can choose to make your data public for anyone to access, restrict access to a limited number of other Ewakening users, or keep certain information private so only you can access them. Advertisements shown to you may be related to information associated with the data you are seeing or the search term you entered.

You can specify whether or not you want your data to be accessible to the public, accessible to a select few, or private (only you can access them with your user ID and password). Research on anonymous statistics is a valuable benefit of Ewakening services and improves health research. To advance our research goals, Ewakening may enter into partnerships with organizations that conduct health research. Such partnerships may allow an organization access to our databases of Genetic Information and other contributed Phenotypic Information, so that, for example, the organization can search, without knowing the identities of the individuals involved, for the correlation between presence of a particular genetic variation and a particular health condition or trait. Partner organizations will not have access to your account information. We believe that individuals should be protected against genetic discrimination according to the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act (GINA), in effect May 21, 2008.

Ewakening is committed to protecting the privacy of children. Ewakening nor any of its services are intended to attract children under the age of 13. A parent or guardian, however, may create and set up an account for our services on behalf of his or her child. The parent or guardian assumes full responsibility for ensuring that the information that he/she provides to our services about his or her child is kept secure.

Visit your Ewakening account information area to edit your email notification settings. A notice will be posted as part of this Privacy Statement and on our customer's login pages whenever this Privacy Statement is changed in a material way. In addition, all customers will receive an email with notification of the changes.
